A residential and commercial center in the port city of Tianjin was planned – a unique port city, where the Hai He River flows into the Grand Canal.
With its expressive shape in the housing structure of Tianjin, the Tianjin Castle forms an urban building landmark: A platform on which five different towers stand, in dynamic relationship to one another. The round base, which is symbolically rooted in traditional Chinese philosophy, is especially striking. Here, cultural, retail and entertainment functions are housed, while in the towers, a combination of residential and office facilities ensure that the building ensemble will remain a lively center of activity, even after business hours.
